Stay put, the main points of this new boat tale are shrouded in mystery!

Re: sailing the m25
Ryan- make sure your main sheet cam and block assembly (where it attaches to the traveler) rotates easily. There is a pin in the assembly that should allow the cam cleat to rotate to be in-line with your pull on the sheet. A drop of oil on the pin might help. For the standard jib, the jib sheets go ...

Re: Painting under trailer bunks.
That's the process I did to get bottom paint on my :macm: , except for the night painting! I live close to the ramp, so I brought her back home. A very important addition to the list above: place tie-down strap on the bow section of the boat after it is set back on the trailer. As noted, the modifie...

Re: Marina Maneuvers
As long as the depth allows, rudders down for maneuvering is a good thing. I also put down about a foot of the dagger board on my
to serve as a skeg. Seems to track well in that configuraton, although slower because it's blue.

Re: Summer Storage
Other suggestions:
1) Empty and flush out porta-pottie
2) If you have 120 VAC available, run a small fan to circulate air in the cabin
3) Open the various storage holds
4) Install some moisture reducers (e.g., DampRid)
5) Remove any food supplies
Just some thoughts!

Re: Mast hound size "M"
I had to replace the stock forestay on my 05/CDI with a stock-sized replacement stay from BWY. This is probably not the applicable thread title, but in talking with Gail at BWY, they are now offering a 5/32 forestay with the standard lower threaded fitting. Those wanting a slightly beefier stay can...

Re: Bottom paint suggestions/opinions
Here's a repost summary of what I did to apply a barrier coat while the boat stayed on the trailer: Did it all while on the trailer. Washed the hull with cleaner and water rinse. De-waxed the hull with Interprotect Solvent Wash 202 (wear a respirator), sanded with 80 grit, and cleaned again with Sol...

I believe the following information should be viewed by all (moderators included) as public information, not speculation. It's unfortunate, but the forum has a right to know.

Re: Rudder posts concern
I have noticed that my brackets have flared out as well. I trued them up somewhat with a C-clamp (with the rudders off). Having the pivot bolt tight seems critical.
