Pop top cabin connection to mast
I have a 26 S and I am trying to figure out the connection of the pop top cabin to the mast. I understand that there is a sliding bracket in the mast track that is supposed to connect to the mast side hole in the pop top with a hook connection. I am not sure I get exactly how this works. Does anyone have a picture of how they do this?

Re: Pop top cabin connection to mast
I'm afraid I don't have a picture, my boat is still covered for winter with the mast down, but on my 26D, the connection is a stainless piece about 3 inches long, with a joggle in the top and a lower half shaped so as to slide in the sail lug slot on the mast. It normally sits down on the deck at the base of the mast. When you wish to secure the pop top, you hold the pop top against the back of the mast and slide the piece up to where joggle slides aft of the pop top edge and secures it in place. There is a thumb screw threaded through the support that you can screw into the hole in the pop top so that the support will not slide out of position if you accidentally bump the pop top forward. If nobody else can come up with a photo, I will be uncovering my boat this weekend and can get one then.

If it's still unclear, let me know. My 26S is in the water now and I can get more pictures to share.

But is your dock in (or under) the water, too?Mac26S-95 wrote:My 26S is in the water now and I can get more pictures to share.

Perfect day to sail, Tom - south wind and the lake is flat. I'll be out there in an hour or two. Stupid house chores first.
