I have thought about mounting the top part of a wet vac to the bathroom sink, and putting a valve on the drain hose. I never use the sink, and this would give the shop vac a place to sit all the time, and the water collected could be then drained out through the thru hull.
Actually, I think I saw a really big shop vac that had a water drain pump in the bottom of the reservoir. maybe that would be easier, just mount it in the back void and brink the hose forward when needed.

Much as I hate to resuresct such a silly thread.....................
Funny thing happened on my bike ride home from work.
I was stopped at an intersection waiting for the light to turn and off to my right was some telecom guys cleaning out a switch box. (hey engineers, do they still call them that) They were using a vacuum machine with a flex hose on the suction side and an open air exhaust on the other. The motor and pump couldnt have been more than 6x6x6.

Similar to this. Some of these were water OK and had a lift rating of 40". You could keep the bilges dry with that.
Sooooooo........ I got to thinking that this would fit nicely in the battery compartment and if you plumbed an inlet there and on the front wall at the front of the sole you wouldnt even need that much hose. The dirty/ exhaust side could then be plumbed under the aft berth and vented through a scupper on the inside vertical of the transom negating the need for bags or buckets????
Hmmmm, hah, huh, Hmmmmm? Thinks what do you????

Only problem I have with Dyson was the guy who started the company with the help of friends, got rid of all the people that built up his factory in UK then fired them and shipped the work abroad.Oh & a friend of mine in England bought 2 of them, after the second one conked out she said never again.Went back to HooverCatigale wrote:I use it on the front of the main for suction...

Based at one time outside Portland Oregon . Paid decent wages was a thriving Company making 100's of millions of dollars on $100 gym shoe's
Moved to China laid off everyone in Oregon and raised the prices to (drum roll please) $150 for Air Jordons! No longer paying Americans a living wage.
