they've got Watney's Red Barrel now, but still, shopping for sailboats around the Med's going to color your available choices.

As for assessing the Macgregor Power-Sailor Breed, although the stench of "raw noob" yet waftes about me, having had my 2001 26X for only about a year, I couldn't be happier with my 26X, which I prefer layout-wise to the later 26M (which I probably couldn't have afforded anyhow, since they tend to run nearly twice what the older X's typically fetch in comparable condition). The 26X is the perfect boat for me for right now, bobbing around the shallow and shoally Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay. Whether it may be so eminently suitable for the moody Med, if that is indeed where you'll be sailing, is a matter for discussion among those saltier than I...preferably folks with
real experience in the matter. That said, don't be dissuaded from considering a well-found Mac by fussbucket "real sailor" types who lurk on other sailing forums passing the time by "Mac Bashing" whilst the pine tar in their bowlined pubes dries. For one thing, such nay-sayers have, more often than not,
never even set foot on one, let alone owned one.
