New Mac / Tattoo 23Ft concept boat
Just saw this new boat company advertising they plan to be at the Annapolis show with a 23ft power sailer. Looks very Macgregor / Tattoo like. https://www.facebook.com/Ventura-Sport- ... 917890832/
Not clear if they plan to have a boat or model of the boat at the show, likely a model seeking deposits. We plan to be up at the show and will check them out. Not sure how they will succeed where Tattoo did not. The used market is still tough competition.

Very interesting interior layout, from what I can see. Kind of a cool step-through transom too.

Wasn't the "MacGregor"brand originally the "Venture" brand?

You're right. There must be a connection. Looks like a modern version of thedlandersson wrote:Wasn't the "MacGregor"brand originally the "Venture" brand?

Re: New Mac / Tattoo 23Ft concept boat
I see more of a Hunter Edge likeness than a Mac in this one.
The Ventura name more likely rides on the coattails of the heritage of the (MacGregor)Venture.
They are pre-selling boats in Annapolis based on a 24" model. With an intended delivery date of Spring 2017, it'll be 2020 before we see the Hull #1 prototype!

I am curious to see which one will be built first. I still like the looks of the
a little bit better.
I don't know how much longer I can wait.

Well, the looks are just a matter of taste. But regarding themiamistyle wrote:I am curious to see which one will be built first. I still like the looks of thea little bit better.

Or put it out of your mind and not worry.

Found them on youtube. They are showing a lot of design data.

Intetesting boat. Looks like the used market has some competition.

What it does show is a market vacuum that people are looking to fill.

The price for 500 boats a year is far below what these guys can sell for.

So how much are they selling for? I would think if they get a decent dealer network and sell for around $30,000 they could sell a bunch of them.
I really just wish Tattoo would just give a date for the resumption of production. Since they already have a prototype built, they could have also gone to the boat show and gotten deposits from potential customers. It is almost like they don't want to make the
If that is the case, it would be easy enough to put a letter on their web page saying good bye instead of telling people who want to buy one of their boats that it is "coming soon."

Re: New Mac / Tattoo 23Ft concept boat
Yes very concerning not having a update on the T22 for close on 12 months, I think they have scrapped it personally and now someone has identified the hole in the market left from the stopping of the T26 and is going to fill it.
However many "Traditional Sailors" love "traditional Sail Boats" I think the market is greater in the power sailor segment, it appeals to several segments of the market, due to it ability to sail and motor and its roominess compared to traditional type sail boats of the same size and some much larger.
On the plus side, the stopping of manufacture of the T26 has been positive in maintaining the value of the 26X and 26M models IMHO, if they dont like the price your selling yours for, let them go and buy a new one
