a little confused about Rub Rail replacement method and sealing
I had my rub rail replaced late last year but I've noticed it's not very "stuck" on to the boat. Should adhesive been used when it was installed? Also, does one caulk the top edge where it meets the hull or not? I don't especially think I have a leak from there but I don't want one either....

Re: I'm on the struggle-boat
Chumpy, the list of essentials depends a lot on what your boat use-case and the conditions in which you're going to routinely store and use it. For example, if you're essentially a day sailor who keeps his boat in a local marina and never goes outside the range of TowBoatUS, you really don't need t...

Adapting Mac 25 stern rail for use on a 26s
I have a stern rail from a mac 25 but it doesn't quite fit. It will need to be narrowed and I'll likely need to move the legs around a bit. I imagine I could sleeve and bolt (or rivet) pieces together but I also have a mig welder and I could get the right gas to actually weld it. Any thoughts on doi...

Re: Boom tent...
Thanks for the replies y'all. I ended up using shockcord and some cool clamshell cam thingies. Worked like a charm. Attaching it to the jib cars makes it easy to adjust for the right shape and using shockcord allows put the poptop up even if the tent is deployed. I think I'm gonna get a longer and w...

Re: New Question 3 - Rudder handling
It's truly annoying and I hate it. Maybe some sort of "car" bolted to the tiller with something slippery to slide it on?

Re: New Question 3 - Rudder handling
Looks like Idasailor used to make a riser. Does anyone have this and can give me measurements? I'd like to make my own because it doesn't seem to be for sale anymore.

New Question 3 - Rudder handling
26s... I went out for my first ride with just the motor yesterday and I found I did not like the action of the rudder. It appears that it is designed to sit on the top of the laz hatch and "slide" on the piece of plastic screwed to the underside? I didn't like the scraping and it got hung ...
