Thanks for posting with the grommets, very nice looking. Anyone got any pics of how to install grommets on your own? That would pretty much make the thread complete for both methods.

I got the 18" wheel from them as part of this order, I really like it, money well spent. Here's a pic: http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w157/jdalby/kh_stuff/new_wheel.jpg I've also got the brake on back order, last email I got said about three weeks out which is after an email saying a week o...

Well liking or disliking KH is a whole different topic....I'm still waiting to see what they are going to do about an issue with my order (which was around $1100). I just bought everything on my mods list for this year from them for two reasons, their support of this board and the fact that they hav...

KH Slug kit install

Here's the post I had mentioned about installing the Kelly-Hanson Sail slug kit. The instructions they send are pretty minimal (but then it is a very simple process) and also a bit incorrect. So I figured I'd take pics and write it up. First, here's the kit you receive, http://i175.photobucket.com/a...

The screw ones have a post that you place right off the bolt rope, all the tension will then end up on the bolt rope and not the screw, I'll try to post the pics I took tomorrow.

Not that this will be any comfort to you, but take that 60 size engine up to somewhere with altitude like up here in Utah and you'd be very happy with those numbers, I think the fastest I've ever been able to go was about 16.5 or so, typically I'm closer to 14.5. I think about the only way you'll ge...

Just finished adding them using the KH kit. The instructions are't quite right, ifyou space them anywhere close to 12" you'll end up running out of slugs a little after 13'. Anyway spaced 18" apart per some of the other posts you'll use all 15 in the kit. Took a whopping 25 minutes to do. ...

I'd like to see installs of those with motors that don't flop when all the way raised, so I can know what I did wrong with my Merc 60 BF install. I can't even fathom how you could have no flop. The motor has a central pivot point. When you tilt the motor all the way up the weight of the motor has to...

Yeah but if you are not a fan of sail slugs its a wonderful thing...and yes I know all the arguments of why on a Mac there's no real perfomance hit with slugs and thier failure rate isn't that high. But not having them gives me one less thing to worry about, and having a prefeeder means I can raise ...

Assuming you mean the mainsail preefeeder: http://tinyurl.com/3bf2ro I've got one. It's a great little device if you don't have slugs. All you do is slip it down the track below the feeder slot and secure it by tightening the two screws, you then leave it there permanently. When you raise your main ...

I still am not sure on the turning problem. I do know that with two rudders down it turned ok. One thing I've noticed is that I can turn the wheel a bit farther to starboard than to port. I can't find anythign binding on the outside so I guess I'll need to pull things apart to look for something bin...

Now that's an interesting point. I've always got my main on the boom. I wonder if I could finally break 17mph if I would just put the thing down below.

Transom Wedge Results, and I'm a Moron

So last Saturday I finally had a chance to take the boat out. Forecast is for light to no wind. And I'm supposed to be working on our corporate e-mail system but I want to test the boat. My choices are going up to a beautiful lake in the mountains that's nearly a two hour drive, or go to Utah Lake, ...

Yeah I could swear I was just looking at that a month or two ago and it was still around $60. I was planning on ordering one soon as well. But at more than double the price I'll have to see what I can come up with. $60 is more than reasonable, $129 is not so much. Geoff if you come up with something...

Good tip on the alcohol...wish I'd known or thought to try that since I have some sitting in the boat for the stove, will definitely keep it in mind for the future. I'll add it to the mods at some point as soon as I can decide which pictures to keep. I did it this way because then I can use less wor...
