Auto pilot on Hydraulic steering

Like most, I'm interested in an autopilot to put on my Mac 98X, and I've read most of the comments about the Sportpilot, and the others, but my problem is I've got a Honda 90 hooked on the back, with hydraulic steering. Does any body have any experience, or recommendations for this? Obviously the st...

Thanks, guys. I was wondering what to expect in terms of how is the line attached to the centerboard? Carriage bolts? Also, I'm thinking of adding a block suspended somehow from the mast at the base, in order to bypass the little bar/hoop thigamajig that the cable slides over. Anybody done that?

swing keel pennant line on a 98X

I can't believe that I haven't seen a lot of comment on the line that lifts/lowers the centerboard on an X. I think they call it a pennant. The steel cable rides over a steel bar with no block or anything to take the weight! Just steel on steel, right at the base of the mast!. Even though, when I bo...

What a mod

Not too much weight was added. Remember I removed the old black plexiglass, the sink, tile and some countertop. I used 3/8" plywood, and laminate flooring for countertop. I was careful to use wood as thin as possible in building the shelves. Also to offset add'l weight, I placed my waterbag for...

mounting stuff

Speaking for myself, Whenever I needed to do that, I used Liquid Nail and glued a piece of plywood to the hull or liner, then screwed to that. My shelving system is not attached to the liner. The countertop is glue/screwed to the existing countertop, then the shelves are attached to that.

What a mod

The cabinet doors have no hardware. I used velcroe on the top/bottom which works pretty well even in a fairly steep heel. I did it this way so that I can remove any one or all of the doors. This means much greater access to work underneath the sink etc. On the inside of the doors, I glued some wicke...

Thanks for your comments

Most of my mods came from studying thr entries made on this site. I don't have a real sophisticated workshop but I have the basics, and a few toys like a Roto-Zip and a biscuit joiner than makes butt joints pretty easy to make. Any way on future mods I'll try to be more explicit about methods used, ...

about mods

Thanks to Tahoe Jack and Heath for helping me get into this forum. This took more effort than some of my mods! I hope to pass on a few more mods as soon as I can. Thanks for the great comments about my recent submissions.
