Mounting "STUFF"
Mounting "STUFF"
Starting to modify my newly aquired 99X. How do you secure those great galley cabin mods to the inside of the liner?

mounting stuff
Speaking for myself, Whenever I needed to do that, I used Liquid Nail and glued a piece of plywood to the hull or liner, then screwed to that. My shelving system is not attached to the liner. The countertop is glue/screwed to the existing countertop, then the shelves are attached to that.

Liner attachments
I also use a lot of construction quality exterior grade Liquid Nails for attaching things to the insideof the hull, bilge tanks, etc. It's worked very well.
I have attached many light weight things like wine glas racks, radios, stereos, switch panels, etc. directly to the face of the interior liner with pop rivets and in other cases, short screws. Since the liner is very thin, I use #8 or #10 sheet metal screws for better holding, with a little dab or loctite or silicone on them.
Be careful drilling up near the rub rail belowe the windows. The liner gets very close to the hull. It's easy to drill right thru to the outside since it's only 1/8th inch thick below the windows. You can guess how I know that....
I don't use adhesives other than velcro on the liner, in case I want to modify things later. A screw hole is easier to patch and hide than a big swatch of old glue.
