We have an opening hatch over the head. Nice for ventilation, but I've also popped my head out while using the facility. The one we purchased had a finishing piece inside that has a retractable shade and screen combo.

Re: Whale style Rudders
Am I the only one that sees these as a nice way to slice through fishing line and crab pot buoys?
They do look interesting. Better grip would make for easier sailing.

Help - new mast need measurements
Hello everyone. After a storm bent my mast in two, I needed a replacement. I ordered a replacement from BWY, but it seems they missed drilling the holes for the upper shroud hasp. Does anyone have the measurement for this?
Thanks in advance,
Terry

Bent mast
Bad storm came through this weekend. Baby stay came loose and mast was bent in half. (and then neatly folded over the boat) I have a call in to BW Yachts for a replacement, but I see from their site that Macgregor changed the design in 2007. I have a 2007, but I'm not sure if I have the old or new m...

Re: New "Experience"
Divecoz - I have a Perco selector. Similar to the Blue Seas, but the selector knob stick out. Maybe I'll change it. robbarnes1965 - You might be on to something. Perhaps there wasn't enough resistance with the batteries out of the picture and thus higher current. The worst part is that the ICMs supp...

New "Experience"
After a great day of sailing Wednesday, we finished up with dinner at the Chesapeake Inn. While motoring home, we had some issues. Just as we left the C&D Canal and entered the Elk River, I noticed some strange electrical issues. First the Bow lights went out, then the GPS rebooted. The engine, ...

Re: Honda BF50 Stalling Under Load Today
I had similar issues with my 2006 BF50. The engine would stall if I advanced the throttle quickly and wouldn't reach full rpm. I noticed a big difference running some SeaFoam through. I did a full clean and sync of the carbs. Clean/rebuild may not have been necessary, you might start with SeaFoam an...

We're up in Chesapeake City, but would be interested in meeting up within a day's sail.

Re: New Musclehead arrived----Batten question???
I tried using a small shackle between the headboard and slug. but eventually stopped using the top slug all togenher. I found I can also get better tension on the main halyard without it as the the halyard block being on the side of the mast doesn't pull straight up.

Re: Honda 50 exhaust
Looks like that's correct, but mine seems to be leaking from the joint at the lower unit. Perhaps I didn't get it back on correctly after replacing the water pump impeller.

Honda 50 exhaust
Still trying to figure out my engine issues. Cleaned and synched the carbs, cleaned fuel lines and pump, replaced plugs. While out today, the wake seemed a little more "aerated" than normal. Slowed down, thought to check exhaust. Hot air coming from exhaust port. Advanced throttle just abo...

To a Mac X owner going North
While headed back from Maine today we passed a Mac X with a black Suburban (maybe) going North. Didn't see a name. Was it anyone on this board?

Re: Honda 50 power
While rebuilding the carbs, I found the the screw plug in the bottom of the jets on #3 was very loose. The jets were all clean and carbs are in great shape overall, so I'm thinking it couldn't maintain pressure in the jets on #3 and that probably caused low pressure in the the other 2. Waiting for m...

Re: Honda carb rebuild
Found it. Engine code is on the carbs. The BG in on the side and the 31C C is on the top neat the intake. So, turns out it's a BG31C C. Easy to order parts from boats.net now.
