Replace your "things" before they break
Just replaced my forestay - it was 10 + years old. It's a good idea (for your family and other loved ones who depend on you) to be a little proactive rather than wait for things to break.

This one was inside a CDI RF, so it wasn't visible. Just thought that it was time for a new one - glad I did

Remember there is a down side of upsizing the forestay, you have to up in tension to stop shock loading. Everything else is now under more stress. Forestay s don’t break from tension, they fatigue or corrode

Re: Replace your "things" before they break
well don't know for the
In question of fatigue and STRANDS you have much more safety with the 4mm over the 3mm forestay.
Especially inside the roller you don't see the cable. And if you have a 4mm forestay with some broken strands it can still be stronger than a 3mm cable...
