Replacement Hatch

Post by Doctor Z »

In March, I posted here seeking a 26M replacement hatch for mine that was greatly damaged in a theft.
I got a lot of great advice on building a new one but this is an insurance claim and I'm still looking for someone to sell me their original factory hatch.
Those of you who built a Plexiglass replacement, do you have the original? Will you sell it? Tried Tatoo, tried Bluewater - they have the molds but won't make a single one-off. Please let me know if I can buy your used companionway door. Thanks!

Have you tried Bill @ Boats-4-Sail? http://www.boats4sail.info/ He's a MacGegor/Tattoo dealer and posts here from time to time.

Just left a phone message at boats4sail but their website says the currently only have a select few parts for sale and they're essentials like sails.

Would your insurance cover a hatch made of wood? Perhaps it could be fiberglassed and/or finished off nicely.

I'm looking for the original hatch, not a wooden, nor Lexan, nor Plexiglass one. I know many of you have made improved custom hatches and have the original sitting in your garage. Any for sale?
