2 weeks September school hols in Wide Bay
Finally will be doing my much anticipated wide bay cruise this September. I missed out in December due to family issues but pending any disasters I plan on two whole weeks this September. Launching at Tin Can Bay and sailing up to Urangan via Kingfisher, then around to Burrum Heads and back across the bay to Moon Point before heading north to the top of Fraser for a few days looking for whales and enjoying some time around Wathunga before heading south for a leisurely few days return to TCB. My daughter will be with me for the first week but my wife will probably stay home, second week I will be on my own to just enjoy the tranquillity of the area. Hey Paul, why not bring the family up with Little Annie and meet me for few days? What about you guys Fresh? Anyhow its quite a while away yet so plenty of planning time but doesn't time fly these days?
Cheers Dennis.
Cheers Dennis.

Re: 2 weeks September school hols in Wide Bay
We were going to do the GSS for two weeks in September, but have been talking about altering our plans and just messing about on the bay here for a week in September (as we want to save our holidays for when we go South in January).
However this is not certain and we may still do 2 weeks up there then, will decide within the next few months... If we go, we'd certainly be happy to meet up for a few ales at the Sandbar
There should be quite a few trailer sailers at Wathumba creek this year. "Rugboots" in his Farr 6 said he was going. Simon Carter (this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WFcu5GLjrI ) mentioned trying to arrange a big trailer sailer cruise to Wathumba this year, all welcome, the way that Garry Beattie used to do them. Might be worth messaging Simon to see if it is happening.

Hi Glen, PM'd as requested.
Hey Paul, get up to the GSS, you can do Moreton anytime. I was hoping for some peace and quiet at Wathumba but maybe a floating party could be good too, can always sail away if it gets too noisy I guess. I would enjoy catching up with another boat or two here and there but not really looking for a floatilla. Well keep me posted if you change your mind, I reckon there's still more pirates loot to be found in them waters so your kids might get the final say.
Cheers, Den.

Yes, must admit, hearing there may be heaps of TSs at Wathumba this year, did not excite us that much either... We go cruising for peace and quite!
Coongul creek is a very nice little hidey hole, and we had it to ourselves when there, but further away from the whale action.
Not sure yet Dennis, we wont do it unless we have 2 weeks off work. We will see.

We did GSS a couple of years ago. Went from TCB to Moon Point. About 10 days on the water. Plenty to explore. Caught some nice whiting at Sheridan flats. Walked a while to find yabbies though.
Heading over to Tangalooma soon for 2 weeks - whr permitting. Now have solar panels and backup petrol battery charger for fridge, freezer, deckwash and lights.
