Picked up my boat!!

Post by fishstalker7 »

All,

I want to thank Mark and Helen Humphreys for their great purchase support this weekend of our new 09' 26m "Allons-y!" Both Mark and Helen put loving touches into the care and design of Allons-y and we are excited to continue the legacy that they started with her. We're also excited to have some new sailing friends and look forward to continuing the friendship going forward!

Thank you Mark and Helen!

I also want to thank this community! We already have an upper hand in the learning curve due to the forum and mods sections here so thank you all!

Below is a link to some pictures that they posted on the ad. Eventually, when I learn to post pics here, I'll have some great photo additions of our family adventures to share with you all.

We're excited to finally be a part of the owner crowd here and look forward to meeting you all on the water someday!

Respectfully,

David, Audra, Abby, Michael and Anna

Welcome to the madness that is Mac ownership. Please post more of your adventures.

Nice looking boat with lots of goodies already.
Is that a folding trailer tongue?

Hi Russ,

Thank you for the welcome! Yes, it is a folding tongue trailer. The former owner stored the boat in the water and kept the trailer garaged. I probably won't use the folding tongue much, but it might come in handy if I left the boat or trailer in a conventional parking space.

Thanks again for the welcome!

Report back after the admiral bangs her knee on the coupler because you didn't fold it. :D

And welcome to the world of motor-sailors. Looks like a well-equipped boat, ready for fun. 8)

I had never seen a folding tongue or at least never noticed it until our last trip when I called into a dealers to get some XD100 oil and now another but this one looks to be cast?
Will make one for the dinghy instead of removing the front bit when carrying it in the back of the truck and also want to make one for another project.
A great idea when storage length is limited.

@ bahama bound: Thanks for the welcome! I am considering a possible Bahamas trip with some of the folks looking to go in the May timeframe, but this is a long shot due to the short calendar between now and then. The next most likely trip will be the NC Pirate Fest in September (unless something more local pops up between now and then). We have family in NC and could piggy back the trip, plus the kids would enjoy the pirate themes! Right now we are working to get the boat loaded out for our family, doing some minor repairs/hull prep and planning to use the boat locally under power while we get used to trailering it, living on it for short periods and incorporating it into our already full calendar.

@tomfoolery and @boblee: LOL...I agree! I do think it will come in handier than I can imagine now, possibly when camping in smaller campgrounds/RV pads while in transit. It's a nice hitch setup...Mark did a great job with it. Thanks again for the welcome!

@mastreb: Thanks Matt! We're really excited to start using it! I appreciate our conversations leading up to this and look forward to continuing them. Thanks again for the welcome and conversations!

@markh1f: Thanks Mark! We're really excited...may splash her for the 1st time Saturday. Kids picked out a pull toy coming today. Working on getting her packed for adventures with the kids. Thanks again for all your support! Look forward to seeing you on the water in the future!
