The White "M" in the video has a 140hp motor.

For one thing, it would weigh the stern down a bit more.

That's a older Video with Bill in his Mac.X 140 hp and the M with 90hp Suzuki.
Chase boat doing Video was a MacX with 90 hp Suzuki and noticed how he kept up than bypassed the M.

Erik,
Watched that Video at least 50 times for inspiration on repowering to a 90 HP Suzukie.
End result was repower with a new 50hp Big Foot Merc. as no dealer around me would put on a larger hp rated over manifactures spec. also insurance issue.
Came back from a trip Monday and outran a powerfull Thunderstorm and was in 2-3 ft. seas with winds over 20 knots (mast was off the boat). Don't think the 90 hp would do any good as the Macx was wallowing in the following quarter seas and would take the macx sideways over powering the helm.
Good calm sea engine to get up and go.

I say the Blue

Since I got my Tohatsu 70hp I have been very happy to get up around 18knots with ballast in and watch people freak out is a real treat! - Cool story I seen a fishing boat pulling another fishing boat and I seen them staring at me and eased back on the throttle to see if they needed assistance maybe extra rope or fuel whatever. They Said No I was taking a picture of that thing! BEAUTIFUL BOAT - I was never prouder

Re: IT IS OFFICIAL ! WHITE HULL RULE.
To me the video clearly shows that the X has a higher top speed than the M under equivalent power. Forget the 140HP X (that's just ridiculous anyway..in a good way of course) and just look at the 90HP
compared with the 90HP
chase-boat that is shooting the video. The
chase-boat is clearly faster under equivalent power.
One could always argue that the motor and prop setup could have made the difference, but the general consensus has always been that the
motors better than the
. I guess someone could argue that 90 Suzuki HP are better than 90 E-Tec HP.
Under sail the M probably would have pulled away from both X-boats...again assuming all other things being equal, as they never are.

Re: IT IS OFFICIAL ! WHITE HULL RULE.
Actually the M would do much better than the MacX in 2-3 ft. seas.
That extra V in hull and 300 lbs of solid weighted keel with a empty ballast is a major over the Macx .
All depends on current conditions.
M is far beyond the MacX in higher waves.
Calm 1-2 ft. seas the MacX is faster boat.
Last Mon. came back from Sanibel Island(mast was off boat) with Major Thunderstorm Approching, winds were already 20mph and I dumped the ballast in 5 min. and wide open I was at 17 mph with seas 2-4 ft. and had to slack off and stay with the quarter seas that was now winds of 30 + mph and foam off the breakers.
Hard to control in seas like that doing 12-17 mph and best to just go with the flow.
Worked for me and many times past 4 years on the Macx .
I take the mast off in the summer here in sw fl as easy to launch with high temps. and little wind.
