Nylon tube to head faucet - original route?

Does anyone know what the original route was for the nylon tube feeding the faucet in the head? My FW tank is under the seat just forward of the galley, but the tube was disconnected from the head faucet and coiled in the little locker under the basin. It looks like it's a bit swollen on the loose end, suggesting it was once in a barb fitting.

I can't find a clear path from one side of the boat to the other under the cabin sole. Not even in the stern berth area. It looks like there's a rib running the length of the berth area.

Assuming the tank is original, how did they originally get water to the head faucet?

In my 98 26x there is a second 5 gallon bag under the the fiberglass cooler holder in the aft settee (starboard side). The hose runs from there under the floor of the head to the faucet.

Do you think it's original? That would certainly explain the length of the hose, which is just about right to get to the space under the cooler holder.

Two of the plastic water containers was standard kit for your boat. Anyone who actually uses them gets rid of them pretty quick...

Well, there *is* a route if you want to get it to your new bag, it's just a wee bit long... go forward under the dinette sole and past the forward dinette seat... there you will find it can go up around and behind the panel that forms the end of the isle (where we often see electrical panels on modified boats)... then across the boat and back aft into that forward galley seat.

By jove, I think you've got it! Actually, I think that was the route the OP used to run an extension cord (!) to power the starboard side of the boat. It was a nice, heavy, expensive cord, and it was laying in water in the various bilges (!). I was trying to remember where it was run when I pulled it out, but age is getting the better of me these days.

I may try that route for a nylon hose. I really don't want to add another tank ($$), and certainly not a water bag, on the off chance someone may want to rinse their digits in the head basin. Nobody has yet even used the PP, so I may not bother even making the hand-pump faucet work at all.

Well, I actually did go the extra mile and my powered water goes to the head as well. Made a plinth for the faucet out of starboard. Works great.

Just bought a 2000 X. I also purchased two new water bags and installed them. Both faucets work well. What's wrong with using water bags?

Fine for light duty use, but they are delicate and usually hole from bouncing around the hull. If they work for you, Kudos!!!

Where did you get them? Or, who makes them?

I have a feeling I can get nylon tube and just tee it into the tank supply line for little money, so I'll probably do that, but I'm curious what kind of water bags were/are used for this. Mine has a 10 gallon hard tank installed with a filler and breather to the side of the cabin roof.

Collapsible camping water bag, usually found at camping supply stores / Walmart. I tried plumbing this to my pump faucet and it failed for tightness of fittings & eventually hole in bag = water in bilge.


Now I just have a couple of these onboard and pour my water needs from them, sans faucet.


Kevin & others have done neat plumbing with these water cubes to 12V faucets.
