Wondering where I can find a relatively inexpensive main sail cover for 2001 :macx: .

Kelly Hanson Marine

I bought mine from a canvas dealer at a marina I was using. But I have heard good things about these guys...lots of neat Mac stuff. They give good phone service and delivered stuff I ordered from them very quickly.

Good Luck.

I'd also try Blue Water Yachts in Seattle:

Avoid the one's that zipper along the bottom of the boom as they will interfere with your rigging like your lazy Jack's Etc
A zipper in front of the mast location is OK

Have you thought of lazy jacks instead of a cover ? Makes life so much easier. Check with Madguy, he is on the forum, he made mine (she was his craft then) - well made - and I think he does still make them for the different Macs.

Best wishes,

I thought lazy jacks were for guiding the mainsail down and the mainsail cover is as it suggests-to cover the sail when moored up,or do you mean a stackpack type system?

I believe you are correct Phil. Just lazy Jacks are great for what they do, but they don't provide protection for the sail.

I make a sail stack pack that you add a lazy jack system to, its zipped on the top and very easy for dropping the sail into and as mentioned the lazy fack guides it down.
