Mac 65

Post by waltpm »

In this month's issue of Seaworthy, ( a magazine sent to boaters insured bu Boat/US) there is a pic of a Mac 65 in Galveston TX sitting upright on a concrete pier, against a seawall. The owner had stayed aboard in a marina during hurricane Ike. The boat broke loose, went up against the seawall and when the surge receded, wound up with the keel sitting on the pier.

Walt,

As the article said about this guy staying aboard his boat during a hurricane, "He was, in a word, lucky."

I found the article "Anybody Missing an Elephant? " much more interesting. Especially the photograph of that elephant sitting in the Intracoastal Waterway :!:
