My incomplete understand was that the length of the 26 x/m series was limited by the beam of 8 feet to ensure trailer ability on US roads without additional permits and expense. Maybe someone w more knowledge could weigh in. Otherwise yes it'd be great to have a 28ft version w a standing galley.

I can't figure out if its the X or the M based on the stolen pics. I wonder if they've even built any. Were the plans hacked? Maybe tattoo yachts soldout.
Ahhh...the Über-Fantastic Hison! (As in, "You'd have to be high son to buy one"). Proud marque of one of arguably the most stunningly subpar and least inspiring boat sales videos of all time titled, "World's Most Fantastic Sailboat of This Year," featuring a couple of shnooks from the Hison factory distractedly wallowing around in what must be one of their earlier Mac-ripoff prototypes given a triple-whacking with the ugly stick. From the old tires used as fenders to the bored hunchback dude wearing the shredded remains of some odd half-T-shirt looking like he just finished crapping over the side, it all just hollers, "Class!" Yessirree boys--that's some sleek sampan! Presumably the "Smoke on the Water" soundtrack must be a marketing homage to those planning to burn them to the waterline for the insurance money:

The old tires hanging off the rub rail are a nice touch. Paging Captain Ron!

Wish I had known that was acceptable... I could have used that fender money for something more fun.

Hi Bilgemaster,
I take it you didn’t like it, eh?
Thought Rodger gave/sold the company to his daughter or something like that to bring the Tattoo into production in Florida?
Funny it shows up in a low budget Hison video somewhere in China?
If they have the actual molds and didn’t make reverse casting molds it’s disappointing.
Wonder what the back story is…….

Hi Pitchpole and Dlandersson
The 102 inch width RVs are a bane to city streets.
Several wallow through town here on a regular basis to get jammed at the intersections and parking lots on their way south only to return a few months later north bound. Wouldn’t have thought a couple of inches could be much trouble….. …. But what do I know.
I may have gotten this wrong but from several of the boat design books read when we were originally contemplating building vs. buying that there is a standard ratio formula for beam to length as related to nominal stability but there have been several designers that have made statements to the effect that a more minimal beam does not necessarily make a sailing vessel unstable if compensated by things like hull shape, ballast, skegs and keel/rudder.
Now we chose to buy a Mac26X because it was inherently better than anything we could reasonably design/build. It has a proven track record of safety, performance and comfort that is really hard to argue with. At the same time it is trailerable and adaptable.
The extra foot or so would be beneficial for those looking for a step up if it could incorporate several of the common mods made to the Xs and Ms. Just wonder if the increase in headroom and length would really necessitate an increase in beam…..

One definition of "fantastic" is "strange and imaginary, or not reasonable". I think under that definition is is certainly the most fantastic sailboat of the year.
