How much did macgregor charge, what did you do with the old one, and how well does the new m trailer fit an x? I need to upgrade pronto.
Thanks!

New AL Trailer for 26x?

Frank C
If I felt the need for a new trailer (not) I'd surely go for Roger's new one, even at $2,200. It would cost $1,500 to adapt the X trailer with the torsion axle, disc brakes & 15-inchers, yet still be lacking the AL rails.
I believe Leon just bought the new M trailer ... for his M. I seem to recall someone also reported getting one for his X, no time to search it out, but aluminum trailer gets some good hits.
3 threads on same topic (just in September).
One of the following posts mentions difficulty in adapting to the X-boat.

Excellent trailer except
the disk brakes tend to want to hang up after it has been raining a lot and sitting for over a few weeks. Hard to believe the little bit of a rust ridge that forms around the brake pads could lock the rotors from turning. But rocking the trailer back and forth breaks the pads loose from the rotors. If you don't rock it back and forth the wheels will not turn and the tires will chirp along the pavement until they break free.
And then there is no lock pin that keeps the receiver from moving back and applying the brake when backing up without the wire harness plugged in. Instead there is this tab underneath the receiver that you have to pull down to release the brakes. Difficult to figure out.
