Where ot overnight in Minnesota?

Post by Bluecrab »

Looking to buy an 26M. Can anyone recommend some good lakes in Minnesota for someone new to spending a weekend aboard?

Eventually I would like to try Superior, can anyone recommend marinas where you can sleep aboard and take day trips.

Thanks

Check out Leech lake. I spent most of my summers there as a kid years ago. Googled it some time ago. Looks like a lot of the NW-NE part of the lake is still undeveloped. There are a lot of protected bays that you could gunk hole for the nite. There is a sailing club and marina located in Waker. Check out Big Rock resort. They have a well developed harbor that you could day sail out of. You may be able to get a cabin for a few nites and leave the trailor. There is a full camp ground off Stoney point.

Lake Charlevoix is beautiful, connects directly to Lake Michigan and has a marina. http://www.charlevoix.org/library/index.asp
