Just did three races on Granby Saturday. We were the slowest boat but got the best start in 2 of the races. There were Catalina 25s, a Merit 25, a J-30 and a San Juan. We were almost keeping up with one of the Catalinas at times. When I registered I was given a PHRF of 244, same as last year. After the first race the race committee chairman (Sid is his name) told us as we crossed the finish that he was going to review our handicap. At the party afterwards he said that the 244 was based on us using a spinnaker and he was going to give us a 256 instead. Every little bit helps. I'm still not sure how we did with corrected time.
It would be great if a lot more fun if more Macgreggors or even some of the slower cruisers participated.
Need a PHRF number for a 26X.
