Swing out trailer tongue extension question

Post by Gerald Gordon »

About a year ago I saw a pic of a swing out tongue extension. I thought it was in the mod section but I can't find it. It was swing out and not pull out. Has anyone seen this pic/mod? I want to add this tongue to my trailer as the first step to reworking my CB on my X.

I have seen two One was attached to the side and swung out and the other which I preferred was attached to the bottom of the original tongue . This allowed a longer extension that would just clear the wheels of the trailer when folded back and also added strength by being directly under the original tongue. I will look for a pic but I dont think I have one . All you need is the pipe a pivot bolt a pin for the pivot arm and a coupler. Put some delrin washers b/w the two tongues and ouila

I like that bolt on one at

http://www.xtend-a-hitchnorthwest.com/

Seems like a reasonable cost considering the time it would take to make a custom one. Looks like it would work on a Mac trailer without any modification.

I also like another product they are selling

http://www.xtend-a-hitchnorthwest.com/super_siphon.htm

Nifty simple way to get that old gas out and into the car or lawnmower.

Duanne,

I have two of those super siphons and it is great. I use it all the time to transfer fuel from my "gas station" tanks to my "boat tanks". Saves having to pull the boat tanks.

Lots of other fuel transfer uses too.

Got one at Walmart and one at Harbor Freight.
