How many do you have?

Post by TonyHouk »

Okay,
After going out the past weekend I started to count the number of Macs in the area. I spotted 7 X's and a couple of the other models to make a total of about 12 altogether. How many are in your areas? Happy sails, Tony

12 x's, 2 in slips (mine is 1) 7 in dry store, 3 that trailer in. Older Macs and ventures number near 15, 1 M that trailered in last year, havent seen nim this year. All of these on a lake with way less than 100 sailboats.

Well, this being San Diego County, everywhere you cast an eye, you spy a Mac....hee hee, OK, maybe because that's ALL I care to look at anyway! I spent many a day, over the past few months being the ONLY sailboat out in any bay SD has! That's when it's really nice, to be the only one, then NOBODY passes me! :D

I was playing a gig a few weeks ago at a "riverboat" casino, which is permanently docked at a fairly large marina on Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans. As we were finishing setting up, I saw the unmistakable profile of a 26x coming in from the lake, and (of course) I had to go talk to him. Afterwards, I walked the docks and saw 2 other 26x's there.

Including others I've seen, so far I count 8 (including ours) in the New Orleans area, but there are a couple of other big marinas that I haven't walked through, and I'm sure there are at least a few more there.

Just Two, both blue.
One is a 2003, and the other is a 2004.
Kinda makes parking my truck seem like pulling into a crowded marina.

At last count there were 42 X boats and 3 M boats in my marina. We do share space with A-1 sailboats. :) Saturday I saw Jim out there riging his new demo. It must be rough having to break in a new boat every year. He must have been crying that year he had to demo the 65. :D

I was pleasantly suprised last week when I arrived at my slip that we now have 4 Macs at our end of the Lake, I have heard through the grapevine that there are at least 4 or 5 more at the other end of the lake. One day we are all going to sail the 90 miles and find out which end of the lake has the faster Macs, And two of them are 2003 and 2004 M :macm: :) Sailing ya gotta love it.

Zoran, where do you keep your boat? I spend alot of time on English Bay and I rarely see Macs out, (and i've yet to see one sail).

Are you at Burrard Civic Marina? Is that the ramp you are going to try towing up with your Honda?

Lake Saint Clair, Michigan I would guess around 15-20 boats. I have been to one of the local parks and had 6 lined up against the wall. :D We had a little Mac party with out trying.
