Going to Malibu to see the leftovers from their fire?

So, you're scheduling ahead (*) for a break-up? How curious ... :o

ya gotta leave somethin' undone!
:D
And besides that, it's bad Mojo~!

The last 5 Sundays (and damn near every day since Xmas) have been winds out of the north. Hard winds offshore, and nasty chop out there. Smooth water and 10-15 mph winds right at the surf line.

Monday at Point Sequit, at sunset, I saw a beautiful 30-foot sloop on a tight reach, mainsail battened, no jib, sailing towards Pt Dume.

The winds were howling, and the captain was right at where the surf line would be, if the swell wasn't be flattened by the Santa Ana.

He was holding about 8 kts in water as flat as a golf course pond. He was about 10 yards from the sand!

Well Frank she gave me the ole heave ho and Saturday morning
I set sail for far off points. Sailing was great I was in a crappy mood as stated above. But the weather was perfect. cool, 10 knot winds and sailed to shores North of MDR. Then sailed all the way back. At one point of sail
to the north I didnt touch the wheel for an hour. The mac pointed and sailed herself. Good thing cause I was hitting a little who hit john at the time Just to take the edge off you know. Anyway It was a great day.

We all should really try and get together some time soon for a day of
relaxation and a little who can sail that thing the fastest part of the day.
Maybe a BBQ at the docks after......I promise Ill be in a better mood and
it will be safe to bring dogs and kids around me again.

There wasn't supposed to be any wind that day - I'm jealous.

Mike, how about starting a new thread "MDR BBQ Feb 2007" and how about Saturday February 24th?

I'm game for whenever the weather is warm enough so that I can convince Diane she won't be cold. I'm planning on sailing that day if the weather is good and we don't have the big Santa Ana Winds.

lol. You are same guys we see in the winter driving on the freeway with the tops down on their rented convertible mustangs.

How about any of you other guys in MDR. Bundling up for a mid-winter sail in lovely SoCal Saturday?

ssichler: If you are talking about Saturday 2/24, I'm there. Should be on the launch ramp at 9:45 am.

But I think that aya16 (Mike) said that you were going out Sat 2/17.

aya16; anyone else game for a Saturday sail? 65 degrees, 6' swell, 15-18 kt SW wind, clear sky. In short, great Feb Santa Monica Bay conditions.

See you, MK

I was talking about last weekend. It was an excellent day to enjoy being out on the water with the wife. 87 degrees, no swell and light winds.

Jaime is out of town this weekend so I just might make it Saturday for some solo sailing.
