ooooohhhhhh that would get Eric's blood boiling. His wife, nil experience behind the wheel, pax log hours only, and gets a better quote than the pro captain
Membership in USAA (my company) is limited to active duty and retired military offficers and Staff Noncommissioned Officers. If you can qualify, they are the best. They've done my house, cars and boats since 1971.
On the issue of public liability; in order to enter ANY racing event here now (even trailer sailer races), you have to prove that you have $10million PL cover, so that has become the standard on yacht policies.

And their children. We have USAA for house and cars and I agree they are great company but the rates they offered for my Mac were not as good as BoatUS.
Not exactly. The company offering insurance to the kids is USAA CIC (Casualty Insurance Company) It is a separate for profit company (as opposed to USAA, not a for profit company but a member owned "insurance exchange") Its rates are not as good as USAA and I don't believe it offers the same range of services; in fact I don't believe it offers boat insurance.

Lowest up front rates are not the whole story. Policy and claims service for me has always been absolutley outstanding and over the 36 plus years they have earned all my business. Plus, being an exchange, periodically the profits are returned to the policy holders. No guarantee, but in the past, for me this has been equivalent to a nearly 20% rebate on all premiums.
