Broken Hatch

Post by Jacque ll »

Has anyone had a problem with their plastic hatch breaking? I leaned forward last night to close the slider and the corner of the hatch broke with just a little pressure on it. I would expect that material to be quite strong.
Am I also correct in that the 2004 models have a fiberglas hatch?

What hatch did you lean on and break?

I made one from smoked plexi from a hardware store. You can either cut it on a table saw... or use the old hatch board (glued/taped) as a pattern and a router with a pattern cutting bit. I used the router since it leaves a clean edge. (after trimming the piece on the table saw)

Then using the old one for a pattern drill holes for the wood lifting / support block

Should take a 30min to an hour to make.
