Amplifying Jack's comment, the antenna is a puck, regardless of Eagle or Lowrance branding. I was surprised to read of the minor internal difference Chris discovered, but they're identical in appearance.Tahoe Jack wrote:Beene.....the inverted cone is a base for the puck that allows the puck to be mounted to the top of a vertical mast pole. My package included the cone and puck....and I expect it is a standard alternate mount.
Both of my new Lowrance units shipped with a bunch of accessory dongles, one of which is that plastic cone. It's just an adapter to ease mounting of the puck atop a pole ... not sure why one would want it on a pole? Maybe it significantly improves reception to remove it from the deck area, but mine has always worked just fine without any of the widgets ... velcro pads, flat atop my pedestal.
