Amplifying Jack's comment, the antenna is a puck, regardless of Eagle or Lowrance branding. I was surprised to read of the minor internal difference Chris discovered, but they're identical in appearance.

Both of my new Lowrance units shipped with a bunch of accessory dongles, one of which is that plastic cone. It's just an adapter to ease mounting of the puck atop a pole ... not sure why one would want it on a pole? Maybe it significantly improves reception to remove it from the deck area, but mine has always worked just fine without any of the widgets ... velcro pads, flat atop my pedestal.

EGC OR LGC?

Post by albion »

Jack, did you get the EGC or the LGC antenna? ChrisP said the EGC will be branded to the Eagla SeaChamp. I am wondring if I bought the LGC if it would be branded to the Seachamp also. Seems like he,s saying I would,nt be able to use either on a different brand i,e EGC to LGC and vice versa. If I ever wanted to change stuff.

Well, this has been interesting to say the least. I bought the Seachamp2000c df back in the fall, no GPS module, saw them HERE, but figured I should be able to find it here in Canada. NFL. I am not talking about football either. Thought I would get lucky at the T.O. boat show, but NFW. Just a bit PO at the moment, please excuse me. I have checked all over, and what I have found, at least in Canada, is that you can buy Eagle or Lowrance GPS units but no one carries the receiver. Sigh. I am putting an order together online at LEI X, I am having a tough time deciding whether to get the EGC or the LGC, but I am leaning towards the latter. I am also looking at using the unit in the car, so I am going for the cigarette adapter that Jack used. Has anyone used the MapCreate stuff with this unit? I am planning on putting that in the cart also, but would feel better with POSITIVE Mac owner feedback.

I am finding this process frustrating. I go to the LEI site, click Eagle, select the 2000c df, it then shows all that you can get for the unit. No cig adapter, no Ram mounts. I look up the parts that Jack graciously posted in the Mods section, thanks again Jack, and the parts don’t say they will work with the 2000c df. I know they will, because Jack is using them, very frustrating. The contact number for LEI is only available from the US. I can’t even call them at my expense and ask any questions. So I sent them an email….. waited…. waited…. Still waiting… no response…. Frustrating.

I think winter is starting to get to me.

Rant over :? :o  :|

Beene.....I had an email exchange w/mothership and confirmed that the lighter link cord is OK...and on reciept, it works. Assuming your unit is the same as mine...so it should be OK as well. You may want to check a couple links....lei-extras.com; expressmounts.com; and ram-mount.com. These are sources of some of the stuff you may need. 8)

I was wondering how much extra the dinghy davits are for the 8.10 YT?
It would be great to have a couple of these to hold my dinghy! I wonder if the admiral would go for it?! :o
