Bill,

Hire a diver and have him scrape the bottom of your boat before you pull it out. It will save you a ton of work. We had our boat in Alamitos Bay for about 2 weeks and were already growing a beard. I got a proffessional bottom scraper surf buddy of mine to go under and scape the hull the day befor I pulled it out. Man, I could not believe how clean he got it. We were done. Just gave her a quick rinse for the seawater. :)

Apparently the growth hardens as soon as it leaves the water and is a royal pain to get off without exremely caustic, probably illegal chemicals. Last year it took almost two days of constant scrubbing awash in bleach and muriatic acid to get our hull clean after 6 weeks in the water with only one proffessional cleaning. Uhggg! :x

Good luck

>They have a Pettibone crane coming...<

Thanks Steve for the info. I emailed you about a week ago bringing
you up to speed about the lift and change of personnel. I hope Herb
doesn't have my boat pulled out before I have it's lower hull scraped
and cleaned. I better give him a phone call...

Hey Rick... I certainly intend to do that. There is a guy (Basey Shane)
that is a diver/cleaner that also has two boats at our marina as well. I
better get ahold of him A.S.A.P...

Thanks guys

Bill, Sunday update....your boat is back on the trailer! Looks like its been pressure washed. Needs to be waxed as there is skid marks from the fenders rolling back and forth. The crane seems to be a good option till the lift is fixed.

Tnx Steve... as always... for the update..!

How timely... I tried to get ahold of Herb about an hour ago
to find out what the boat's status was... but he was out.

Guess I will phone Sunshine Boat Cleaning and get them out
there to square things away... cleaning wise that is. (smile)

Thanks again...

Kudos to the marina for recognizing that their problem had caused Bill a problem - a boat beard.
Hope there are no blisters from the long float time - good luck! :?
