Marina Slip available in Stamford, CT

Post by ChrisNorton »

I need to get rid of my slip at Brewer's Yacht Haven in Stamford, CT in Stamford Harbor. Great slip in a great location. Marina has all amenities (showers, electric, water, cable, wireless, phone, services, etc.) I'm just trying to find someone to take it, the marina will handle all the financials. Cost is $110 per foot with a small discount due to the late start for the season. Tax and one-time eletrical charge is extra. Dock is 24 ft long and the slip can handle up to a 27ft boat with a 12 foot beam.

So my questions are: 1)Is anyone here interested?
2) And, What are good resources to list it as available?

Can't actually suggest an answer to either question, but the pricing raises this question from a left-coastie ... does the $110 by 24 feet mean it costs $2,640 per season?

If so, and if the season lasts six months, that would be $440 per month ...
that's about double the cost of a slip near SF Bay. :o

Unfortunately, that rate is in no way unusual for the CT/RI area. For example, Gwenmor Marina in Mystic, CT, is $2,247 for a 4-month season.

I used to pay $90 a month for a nice slip on Lake Buchanan near Austin, TX.

I pay 35 dollars a month for a dry slip, get to use all the marina facilities and 3 nights free at the transiet dock. I leave for one night and get another 3 days fee. And no bottom paint. I grew up in Ledyard CT, right around the corner from Mystic, glad I moved south.

Yep, plus add tax, electrical charge and trailer storage fee and the total is well over $3000 for a six month season. It is killing me, which is why I am pulling out of the marina.

That is brutal...I get an April through November rate of $1600 for my Mac with electricity and cable TV included.. even cheaper if I store with them (works out to free storage, but I prefer to have the boat at home)

Still, if the marina doesnt make money, it turns into condos...
