newly designed m steering pod
Hi All
Just received my M steering pod that I odered back in Feb. for my MAC19. I had read a couple of weeks ago I beleive on this site that Roger had changed the design well I'm happy to say I got the newly designed one & I really like it . It is all fiberglass simular to the X mac . Its white " U " shaped front & sides , flat black plexiglass on backside. Looking at it from the back its paddle shaped stands 38" tall & on the same foward angle as the 05 pod , top of pod is 9" wide 9 1/2" deep, leg is 5 1/4"wide, 7" deep. Inside base opening 4 1/4" x 6 1/2" lots of room to run cables & wiring . The flat black plexiglass backside " face " is from top to floor & would allow you to mount instruments all the way down the leg there is a pie shaped window already just below the steering wheel mount, the backside of the plexiglass is re enforced with 1/2 " plywood , there is an access window on the port side of the pod 5 1/2" x 7 1/2"
Happy Sailing John S.

Kevin I'm going to have to recheck to see if the 11ft steering cables you used will be long enough for the new steering pod . were they long enough for your pod was the fit neet or could you have used a little more cable say 12ft just feeling for some extra help here before I order cables . Thx JS
