Meeting of the Queens Tomorrow Feb 23 at Long Beach CA

Post by Catigale »

The Queen Mary 2 will moor 1/2 mile astern of the Queen Mary tomorrow at and have a duel of the fog horns at 12:30 scheduled....should be a quite a site...

There was a notice to Mariners to keep at least 1000 foot distance from the Queen during this event.

Hope to see some Macs out!!

Maybe I could have read the subject line but that might have been too much work.

Scott, I think you were hooked 'n snookered. We left-coasters knew about the Queen Mary, but how would a Mid-wester? Why would New-Yorker-Stephen be inviting anyone to a shakey-town shindig? :o

Then too, I knew that Catigale is a million-mile flyer ... he prolly transits rt to left coasts weekly, which is how he saw the whales last week. It was a dastardly plot .... innocent trolling? :D

Stephen, upon reflection, slightly edited to adjust colorful adjectives!

Frank..........

Who travels a lot?? :D

like you dont have a few pts accrued on some of those narrow little plane seats........lol

Seems that wasn't it you that descried pacific hopping sojourns that begged for dull boring sleep inducing reading??

Seems that my accidental double postings could have been prescribed as a heavy sedative........

Anyway.........maybe someone will put some good video out of the two ladies clearing their lungs.........

I think the longest, including waiting in airports, was ~24 hrs to destination (Singapore).

Took a week vacation on the Left Coast, and saw whales, zoos, lotsa boats at the Harbors...

The Queens were quite neat - Ill post some pix when I get out of the week long work backup..

The Queen Mary 2 was quite impressive - especially when she came into the Harbor without any tugs and showed off her pivoting motor pods (rotating propellors) and bow thrusters by doing a spin in the harbor proper...YIKES....not bad for 150k tons displacement

Btw, her hull is WHITE for speed... and she does NOT raise her motor under sail...
