I need to completely replace all the weatherstripping around my old Venture 24 window . Know of any suppliers of u-shaped stripping to fit over the plexi? plexi is 1/8 and channel in window frame is 1/4 . Thanks

Seems that a weather-proofed slider would be awfully expensive ... ?? But you should find some choices of opening ports in the marine supply stores like Defender.com, Boaters World and West Marine.

If it's like the later Macgregor models, you'll find your current windows are bedded in 3M adhesive, not weatherstripping. Good luck getting that old adhesive cleaned up! Search for a 3M product that supposedly softens and removes their formula 5200 adhesive.

weatherstrip

MY windows were sealed on the outside by the metal flange of the window then a piece of 1/16 inch flat rubber with a PSA on the boat side . I pulled the screws out of the inside flange and the window practically fell out and the rubber strip pulled off with no problem . I want to get some new larger windows to let more light in so I just cleaned them up real good and formed a temporary gasket with silicone . We are expecting heavy weather here this weekend and I wanted to seal her up . I will look at the sites you mentioned for replacement windows . Thanks
