The Ultimate Cure for Mac Sailor two-foot-itis

Post by Sjack »

Don't know if anyone has posted this before. I found it while trying to find out what happened to Power Sailing Center (still can't find them).

Anyway, check out this baby:

Powersail New Zealand

Don't think they will build (or sell) many of these. I wonder how well it sails.

Pretty boat. But this amused me...
"The "POWERSAIL 15m" only requires a 440hp engine, using the same patented systems as the Powersail 20m, to achieve its outstanding motoring performance."
Only 440hp? Yikes! Imagine feeding that baby! :|

Well, now I know what I will upgrade to when I win the BIG Lottery!!
:D :D :D
That is one cool Boat, sure wish I could afford one, and if I could afford the boat, feeding the 440hp would not be an issue.

This one's shown up a couple time before.

Admittedly, it's a pretty neat looking boat. I believe it's one of those "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" types.

Note that the photos show only what appears to be a single boat under basic construction; nothing is finished and all the images of complete boats for both the 15 and the 20 are computer generated. Am I just a cynic or does that mean they haven't gotten around to actually building a complete boat yet?

Any of you from NZ or the land of Oz seen one?

Yowtch!! But wait! Is that for the full price 20M, or the 60% price reduced 15M? That would make all the difference in the world.

Actually, no it wouldn't.

Wow...Macgregor sailors not thinking latterally?

First.

You already have the basis of such a vessel (Mac 26)

Second
The only thing missing is this...

A way cool looking boat. Would love to have one. 2 Mil. I dunnoh. I agree with chip and sure would like to see 6 or 8 completed ones sailing in flotilla.

For that kinda money I could have the coolest Cat in the Caribe.

From the site:

"Construction of the first Powersail 15m commenced on 1th May 2005 and is due for completion in May 2006."

Oh well, maybe next Christmas.

I assume that 2 mil is for the 15m.

Ya Know I had the 2 mil in my change can but the pantry was running short on caviar. Had to run to the mercantile.

Maybe if I get the new gulfstream to replace the lear the fuel savings could justify the frivolous expense.
