Boarding Ladder
Boarding Ladder
Hi All
Does anyone know what kind of boarding ladder this is? And if so, has anyone used this type. Thought it was king of neat and looks like it would be easier to use.
Al
Sorry about the photo. I don't know how to attach it. Tried to drop and drag to no avail. It is a ladder that is mounted to the Genoa track.

Boarding Ladder
What kind of boarding ladder is it?
I can only assume it is the kind used for boarding your boat!!
Sorry couldn't resist.
I have one that mounts on the Genoa track, just bought it from Blue Water Yachts in Seattle last summer. My wife needed it to get her short legs over the gunnales from the dock. It is a tad expensive but sure is cool.
I don't know how to post a picture of it either.

Guys
to post a picture you need to archive it (somewhere else, so that HEath doesnt have to end up swimming in files)
then point to it with the Img tags above.
All in the FAQs
"Can I post Images?
Images can indeed be shown in your posts. However, there is no facility at present for uploading images directly to this board. Therefore you must link to an image stored on a publicly accessible web server, e.g. (link deleted due to excessive popups and malware). You cannot link to pictures stored on your own PC (unless it is a publicly accessible server) nor to images stored behind authentication mechanisms such as Hotmail or Yahoo mailboxes, password-protected sites, etc. To display the image use either the BBCode [img] tag or appropriate HTML (if allowed).

Boarding Ladder
At the dock, we manage fine without a ladder, and when beached stern-shore, we use our swim ladder, otherwise, we often use our custom rope ladder. It stows easily, deploys easily, and is an easy DIY Sat. AM project. It loops over the pulpit rail or side rail and allows easy boarding for swimmers or from the beach onto the bow. Obviously commercial options abound. We are happy with our rope ladder. I will take some pics tomorrow and post a mod. Didn't check, but likely someone else may have a similar mod already available. boarding ladder
Hi everyone:
My Mac "1996" came with a boarding ladder that moves from the cockpit to the genoa rail. From dock to boat or boat to dock. "Wife also has short legs" I never have liked the swim ladder on the stern. Too busy back there. I added a "water to to boat ladder" Six rungs, folds in half for storage. I added slide in clips next to and foward of the genoa rails. Works great and no one stumbles over all the "stuff" on the stern.
Stay safe.

Rich, I think he is talking about the ladder I have. bought it from BWY this summer...at the time they only had one more left. It came with a second pair of brackets to mount inside the cabin to replace the old box over the pre 98 hump with the valve in it. My wife loves it too. cost 199 bucks but it is very well made and all stainless steel and starboard treads

Pictures?
Yes, Pictures are nice, but if one has to sign up, at a cost, to some public board to get pictures here like Catigale pointed out, then I guess I still don't know how. If someone knows of a free service (which I doubt) I would like to try it so that I can post a few pictures. Sure wish I could just pull them off my hard drive and onto this board though. Going through some public server just doesn't sit well with me, especially if too much cost/membership details are involved.

Go to this website for PhotoBucket.com. Their user interface is a little convoluted, but at least they don't throw popups at your viewers, and I don't think they even generate SPAM either.
You can see my albums here to get an idea of the results. It's completely free. There are many other free photo sites too, including one at Google.
(The worst of them throw popups like popcorn in a matinee ...

I use http://photobucket.com/ It's easy to use, free, and, as I can figure it out, anyone can! I have tried figuring out the URL tags, and some have even Emailed me (Thanks) but I still cannot get links attached so they don't Supersize a widescreen look!

Boarding ladders
Al:
My Mac came with the short boarding ladder which moves from cockpit ladder to dock ladder with two quick clip pins. The over the side ladder I picked up from West Marine. "A little pricey" but I think it was worth it I had bought a ten foot sailing dingy and West Marine sent me cash coupons as some sort of free gift thing, which almost paid for the ladder. The dingy fits upside down on the deck of the Mac while travling.
Stay safe.
