I resolved that issue yrs ago by just using a skate board to cross that distance faster before I lost my balance ! now I just use knee pads !

BWY , was posting a mod a few yrs back that extended the 2 stanchion's on the cabin roof & installing a solid s/s bar between them did that ever materialize !

Hi Highlander!
I haven’t tried the skateboard as yet but I can vouch for the knee pads approach!
That idea of raising up the stanchions sounds like a great idea!
I like that!
I’ve occasionally added a safety line on both sides going forward that I can clip on to a waist harness to provide a securement.
Once clipped on it allows me to travel forward without interruption with some confidence that at least I’ll remain attached to the boat in inclement weather or wave conditions.
Raised stanchions would provide a nice everyday deck access improvement though!
