Looks good.
Instructions are very good and complete. It was designed for Classics and X models. Have you tried it on an M?
I have the BWY mast gate. However, earlier Macs used different types of mast slot types.
I could have saved 1.3hrs of print time if I'd started with the micrometer.
As far as I know I have an original mast and it is set up for a 9mm slug. The base of this gate is 17mm. It was not even close to being able to fit.
I'm going to say that it's not going to work on the .

I'd buy one if someone is printing a copy. I don't have a printer, and I'm not going to talk myself into buying one.
Well, I don't know which boat you have (X or M), but it appears this 3D printed one one doesn't fit a 26X.

As for the 26X folks, which has a symetrical spread slot for feeding the mast, you might want to check out https://mastgates.com.
Kevin,
As it so happens, I am in the need of a mast gate for my 2005M. That mast gate from BWY is for a 2007M or newer. I prefer to use BWY because of their support of us, but I find navigating their site to be difficult.

I spend most of my money at BWY. It is hard to navigate, but with all the specialized knowledge and the diverse nature of the parts, I imagine that it is a beast to maintain. I don't envy them the job.

How big is the opening where your slugs are inserted into the mast? This model was supposed to work on a "D" but I'd really be surprised if any of our masts have an opening that wide.

Works perfectly on the 26x. I added it when I switched to a loose-footed mainsail. Just tapped it once or twice with a mallet. It snapped right into place and has stayed there permanently for months.

Wait, I must be misunderstanding the purpose of this device. My BWY mast gate (and those I see at mastgate.com) allows the sail slugs to drop down lower than the gate.
BWY sells a sail stop (which they gave me when I bought my boat) which is not the same as their gate.
Used on boats with slides on the mainsail to keep the slides in the mast when you lower the sail. Older boats can use either the round or flat stop. Boats 2007 and newer with the new 3.5" X 4.5" mast must use this flat stop or our mast gate cover which allows the slides to go all the way down to the boom without coming out of the mast.
You are correct, Russ. This device is supposed to allow the slugs to continue down the mast to near where the gooseneck connects the mast to the boom. In this way you get a tight, low pack when stowing the mainsail.
RSVPASAP, it appears in your photos that this device *stops* the slugs from going down all the way past the slot. Is this the case? If so, it’s not a proper mast gate.
