Good Morning Everyone,
What Anchor should I get for my Macgregor 22? What length of line, and chain (road?) do I need?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Regards,
Will R.

Where will you be anchoring? Type of bottom, depth, currents?
150' of anchor line with 10-15' of chain would be a good basic kit. Danforth has been around for decades. In Danforth type, an 8lb anchor is fine for a boat that size. 14lbs for a plow or claw type.

I’m a big believer in West Marine opinions.
Here are others.

I’ve had a 12 pound Delta for twenty years and it has severed me well on my 2005
. I also have a back up 12lb Fluke.

Re: What anchor for Mac 22
thanks for the replies! I am not sure of the bottom structures. I am planning on sailing in the Puget sound around Camano, Whidby Island, and Everett area....thinking a trip to the San Juan Islands, and many of the nice big Washington lakes
Be nice to Anchor overnight in little out of the way Bay's and assorted spots and such, do some gunkholing as it were.
