OK, guys, is my 2016 portable B:C size 1 marine fire extinguisher on my 1998 26X (presumably under 26 ft ) satisfactory? Assuming it is "serviceable"!

And OBTW, admiral and I went over our first aid kit and made sure we were up to date and ready for the most likely misadventures that septuagenarians might encounter.

have experienced in those years that must be some kinda ‘huge’ kinda First Aid Kit🫣!
Being only sexagenarians our First Aid Kit is somewhat smaller based on our more limited experiences ….

Fire extinguisher rules changed effective 4/20/2022. Any extinguisher is presumed expired when it is over 12 years old. There should be a manufacture date near the UL approval stamp. New extinguishers (like yours) will be marked "Marine Type - USCG Approved". Some (maybe all?) are only approved if they are mounted in an approved bracket.

Yep, it's in its bracket inside the dedicated inset in the after-dinette seat. It's a 2016 date of manufacture. Needle in the green. Pin ready to pull if needed. CG Approved. I think I am good.

I don't know what your experience has been but the only time I've interacted with the "water cops" on the St. Johns has been between Lake Monroe and Hontoon Island.

Well, that is of some relief. At least I haven't lost my mind, yet. OBTW, I tried doing multiplication using the new matrix system and could not believe how complicated it is. I am surprised teachers are actually pushing that technique. On the river front, the admiral and I have had two false starts on a trip toward Hontoon. First time we were headed that way, our daughter paid a surprise visit, and we had some good conversation that lasted longer than expected, and the second effort this week was plagued by my back pain and the admiral's difficulty with a sundry of things. So, we just sat in the boat at the marina for several hours and sampled a sub sandwich from a nearby deli, sorted the first aid kit, measured the length of the cubby for the fire extinguisher, chatted with slip neighbors, and went home. Oh, and a coot swam by...

Any day on the boat is good day. Sometimes I just go out and sit in it even if it's in the driveway. A couple of years running I even did my taxes in the boat. Seems to be the only thing that removes the stress.

OK, I have to come clean on what has become a major safety issue for me the past two weeks. I was checking my trailer tires to top them off at 50 psi. Discovered two would not hold air. Found one had a balance weight clip causing a leak, and one had a faulty stem. Got them fixed and bought two new tires. In the process, changing a tire I pulled a back muscle that eventually created an SI joint problem. My chiropractor has me on two weeks of no lifting and two treatments a week. And it is a really achy back. So, be careful out there, guys, getting the trailer ready for summer. FYI, I have Goodyear Endurance tires on my dual axle trailer. All new or no more than two years old. I use Goodyear Endurance on my travel trailer. They have a good rep in RV circles. I've crossed the country twice with my travel trailer so equipped. Only one tire issue due to nail pick up. No blowouts.

I think that "yet" is getting closer and closer. Went to my cardiologist today to get a simple diagnostic procedure done, and they told me I had the procedure last month. Who knew. It was on my phone calendar, so I showed up!
