Photos from latest outing - new sails!

Post by Stickinthemud57 »

Some fellow sailors sent me these photos and videos. Hoping I can get my hands on the full-res versions...

Great shots! It's always so hard to get shots of us piloting our own craft, so it's always a welcome gift when we do get them.

Looks like you were having a lot of fun. Sometimes it's nice just to put the rail down and see how the boat responds.

Personally, I've found that it goes faster and quieter if I keep it below 15 degrees or so. Faster because I'm using the wind more efficiently. Quieter because I don't hear stuff falling off the table and counters and my passengers are not screaming. :D

Lovely pic of your new sails. Gotta like the colour!!!! And saili’ like that works out all the new stiffness. I’m sure that’s what the instructions said! ⛵️
Only four months before that’s us out there. But who’s counting.

Those sails look great! Nice to have pics of your own boat as Kevin says. Those are great shots!

I was frankly a bit surprised when I saw that first picture, but I do remember getting headed at least once on that tack. Maybe that was when they snapped that pic?

Much better than these pics are the videos (with running commentary), but the image utility won't post videos. Anyone interested? Any suggestions?

Todd at Blue Water Yachts will be happy to get you fixed up!

I had mentioned some videos, one of which was peppered with appreciative statements comments from the crew on the other boat regarding the velocity of my boat under sail. In the second video, the camera pans back and forth between my boat and the sails on the videographer's boat several times before stopping on their mainsail, at which point the cameraman says "Time for new sails". I literally laughed out loud!
