Venture 21 Mast Rake

Post by lmorland »

Anyone know what the Venture 21 mast rake should be? The owners manual just says substantial. Thanks.

I think the 26X has "substantial rake" from the factory - it's 4 degrees aft.

From someplace else on the internet:

" The mast is supposed to have a four inch to five inch rake when sailing. In other words if your halyard hangs straight down from the top of the mast it should touch the boom about four to five inches behind the mast. "

Yea, take it for what it's worth. I wouldn't trust anything unless official (like a manual).

If it sails well as is, I'd leave it alone.
