My family and I anchored in Presque Isle Bay for a primo spot to watch last night's Boom on the Bay fireworks show. We anchored about 2 hours early early to claim a good spot without fear of encroaching on someone else's space. While waiting for darkness, I raised the mast and got the X all rigged up for sailing mode again since we just got done trailering it on a vacation to the West end of Lake Erie for some family time and Cedar Point fun.
When the fireworks ended, we just hung out on the hook for an extra half hour to give the weekend warrior boaters a chance to clear out then we made it way slowly back to the marina and tied off around 11pm

Great report. Stopped in the Maritime Museum in nearby Erie many years ago. The docent told us about the good ladies of Erie, PA that sewed the famous battle flag for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry---Don't Give Up the Ship. Hope all of our members have a great 4th. And, let's keep the faith and never give up our great "ship" the USA. Blessings everyone.
