Mast-Up storage

Post by rszobel »

As i am getting older, I tend to have a rough time rigging the boat (an :macx: ). I would like to find a place where i can keep it stored on the trailer with the mast up and close to a ramp so that i do not have to rig it every single time i use it. I live in northern virginia and usually sail out of leesylvania state park. They do have a storage lot that allows mast up storage, but it is full.

Does anyone know of locations in the area that allow this? I do remember when first looking at purchasing, I went to a small place very near Annapolis that allowed this.

Any help would be awesome - thanks.

There are a couple at Lake Anna but its not the best sailing. Off peak days are best there but the wind is inconsistent. Lake Anna Marina and Sturgeon Creek Marina both have storage lots with clear overhead paths to their ramps. Dukes creek looks nice but there is a power line that a mast would hit between the storage lot and the ramps.

Its a ways away from Norva, but Olverson's on the lower Potomac does it. Its actually where we are going this year in a few weeks.

I realize this post was from last August but in case you or anyone are seeking the info I wanted to share what I had found.
