I am buying a trailer (non-Macgregor trailer) for my 26X. I store items in the rear berth when on the trailer/going down the road. I'm also ok with the trailer being a little long for launching assuming I can get my weight and balance right. I think I have settled on the Venture VATB-8025:
Overall length 30'1"
Bow eye to transom Min. 21'6"
Bow eye to transom Max. 26'
Payload is 8,000 (overkill)
Tandem axles are adjustable to a point...
Thoughts?
Thanks for the info... I've had my 26X about 15 years.. starting to run from the midwest to the coast...

Re: Aluminum I beam trailer purchase
Check out this thread on 26X trailers, which includes a sketch I made (about half-way down) not too long ago showing weight and balance of the 26X on its original trailer with dimensions (click the thumbnail to open it). As I recall, my entire trailer/boat combo is about 31 ft LOA, including the prop on the tilted OB. Point being, be cautious about where the rudders and OB leg would fall if the trailer is too long, as well as the location of the axles for tongue weight considerations.
