Market development following some Mac owners
I know some Mac owners either convert or deliberatly buy Mac's to convert to "cruising" boats (no sails). There was a guy in Wash state who did this as a business. Apparently (I'm always slow to the party) the same thing is happening with Catamarans. They are being built w/o sails simply for cruising.

The idea of removing the mast, and making one's Mac a power cruiser is not a new concept; Rich & Jill removed their mast years ago.

Me? I like having those sails, even if only as an option. Yet these Albanian folks look like they're having some fine natural disco-trashy Eurovision grade fun-fun-fun-fun utterly without them on this 26X--Hëll, it even looks like they've permanently yanked off the tabernacle for mounting the mast:
So, go ahead and enjoy! Who's to stop you dropping those sails forever? Just take to heart those haunting lyrics, slam a few rakis, and feel the IQ points slip away...

I felt a few slipping away just watching the first half of that vid. That's as far as I got, as I can't afford to lose any more.

The bizarre thing about the MacX in that video is that it has Connecticut registration numbers on it. Go figure.
Also bizarre, the boat is named “Meltemi” which is what the Greeks call the winds on the Aegean Sea... but the owner has removed the mast and sails, making the name a bit of a non sequitur. (Not to mention that he’s clearly not Greek, since he’s singing in Albanian!)
I do find it cute that he keeps singing that he wants to ‘spin her body around and see her behind’... clearly he’s never met Peaches.
