Hi. Can anyone think of a way to mate this to my existing etec lower unit, trim and motor mounts? IE, take off the old power head and somehow replace it with this. ? Would five hp be powerful enough for no planing cruising?

Thanks

Some JB Weld and a used lower unit. Why not?

I wonder how loud this thing is?

A vertical shaft engine would be a better choice. That engine will require a right angle drive to mate up with your lower unit shaft, so it will be a bit of a project.

5hp would be fine on calm days. You will wish for more beating into a chop, though. I'd probably want ten to fifteen hp...
