The only advice I have on the name is that it's useful to have something that is easy to say and receive over the radio, and also easy to remember. Two syllables work well on the radio.

I vote "Klptzyxm".

It almost looks and sounds Russian!

B.O.A.T.U.S. can make decals. With a little thought to placement, you should be able to accomplish some nice results.

It's pronounced pretty much like it's spelled. N (I pronounce it like knee, but the ee isn't emphasized), Chi (like Chinese Chi energy), and Wana (just like I wanna bigger engine for my boat ).

My thoughts about boat names have come and gone over the years. As a C.S. Lewis fan I thought I would name a boat "Dawn Treader" after the title of one of his Narnia books, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Voyag ... wn_Treader, but as the time came to actually do that I wondered if the name would mean anything to the casual observer unfamiliar with Lewis. So, when I bought my 26X in 2003 I went with the patriotic feelings of the time and named it "American Spirit". I still get a lot of thumbs ups from fellow boaters, but I have had a bridge tender on one occasion mistake me for the American Cruise Lines ship of the same name that had tried a voyage down to Sanford early in their southeast cruise routes. I have concluded that names people can recognize and relate to are my preference. It is a way of sharing your boating "identity" with others even when you are not onboard.
I did encounter back in 2010 one boat owner whose 30 footer sloop was anchored in the St. Johns River near Green Cove Springs. His boat was named "Twenty-Two". I asked him about the name. It turned out that he was a retired tug master who had plied the waters of the St. Johns with fuel barges for many years and had owned many boats. He said he had simply gotten tired of coming up with names, and, since this was (you guessed it) his 22nd boat, it got the name "Twenty Two"! So, good luck with your new name. Just remember to look up the right protocol for changing a boat name. One has to presume it had a previous name, and we mustn't aggravate King Neptune...

While traveling in Long Island, NY, I once was passed by a truck pulling a boat trailer. The name of the boat was MOM’S PIANO. Kind of makes you wonder what the story is behind that name

Herschel, Dawn Treader is a fantastic boat name and is for sure the new front runner. I'm sure a large number of people won't recognize the origin of the name, but those that do are probably people I want to know! My wife and I have both read the Chronicles of Narnia series multiple times and have read the whole series to our boy. Jackson just recently turned 9 and is really into reading fantasy fiction so I'm going to encourage him to start reading The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe as his next book choice.

With regard to the name changing ceremony, I am thinking that I should be exempt from needing an official ceremony because she was stripped of the previous names before I found and bought her. I suppose it couldn't hurt and it would make for a fun memory, but is it the right thing to do? What have y'all done for the name changing ceremony?

Mom's Piano is a very unusual name that I'm struggling to come up with a back story for.... maybe the boat was purchased using the money set aside for Mom's Piano or was funded by the sale of said piano.
My Unnamed 26X was purchased on Long Island and it was a truly fun adventure, getting to hook up to the unknown trailer with my Z71 Suburban and then proceed to try and follow the previous owner through traffic to get back to his house to retrieve the boom and mainsail. He seriously drove with almost no regard to me being able to merge behind him in time to make turns. Then getting out of the city, we got to navigate the rig through 5 pm traffic and at one point, the GPS had us unnecessarily exit the freeway and make a quick little detour through The Bronx before getting back on the freeway. Leaving NYC with the Mac in tow was close to, if not the most stressful driving I've done, and I've got driven many thousands of miles pulling work trailers through unknown cities, including driving a long bed extended cab Chevy 2500 with glass racks hanging off both sides and an 8'x14' heavily loaded trailer through Washington DC traffic and backing into the loading dock at the Smithsonian's Natural History Museum.
After seeing and standing on the beach at Long Island Sound, I do intend to go back and spend a weekend or more sailing there... but I'll probably launch from and keep the truck and trailer in Connecticut! I've never seen Lady Liberty so I want to make it over to check that out too but that may be another trip... maybe one that includes traversing the Erie Canal.

I was not as perturbed about the Bronx detour as I was about the boom not being there. He was even driving a Chevy Express cargo van with nothing in it but fishing poles! The boat was being stored in a dirt parking lot owned by Old Man's Marina boat yard, very near Mount Sinai. I'm honestly not all that familiar with Long Island or NYC in general and was just following the GPS.
It's all good though. I live for adventures, and the price and the general excitement was too good to be very grumpy about anything. I was NOT looking for another boat but couldn't pass it up.
