Where is ;Madd Mike’ and Zeno’s Arrow
This will likely be a single post for reference purposes for those interested in knowing what ever happened to Zeno’s Arrow & yes Madd Mike is still alive and kicking. As of this writing Zeno’s Arrow is somewhere in Montana. It was towed there and donated to the Boy Scouts in 2017 after I purchased a 48’ Ferretti Motor Yacht for another series of trips.
After the Waterways of the Americas Expedition from 1997-2004 I did not sail to Hawaii since I was offered a position with North Sails as the Project Manager for the North Sails 3DL/Di factory build in Sri Lanka, where I lived for the next year. After returning to the U.S. I joined Cubic Tech in Mesa Az as VP, for Business Development to help them transition Cubic Tech ‘Americas’ Cup’ non-woven composite sail material into the expedition and aerospace industry. Cubic Tech was sold to DSM (Dyneema) several years ago and I used my share to start 4Th Planet Logistics, LLC which is now involved in the development and field testing of robotics and flexible composite constructs for subterranean Lunar/Mars habitat applications. Oh, yah, I also got married to a wonderful lady I first met in Antarctica back in 1981 (Dr. Ann Hartry) and we will be starting a ‘Great Loop’ trip in our Ferretti in March from Fort Lauderdale.
I don’t really spend too much time on social media, other than on LinkedIn dealing with technical related Lunar habitat development issues since discussions on things like my various ‘unorthodox’ adventures (waterways of the Americas, using Liquid Oxygen on Mt. Everest, etc) often devolve in odd ways. Cheers all, Michael Chalmer Dunn (Madd Mike) former owner Zeno’s Arrow, current owner ‘Tioga Mar’.

Re: Where is ;Madd Mike’ and Zeno’s Arrow
Thanks, Mike, for checking in and providing your update. I don't know if archival posts by Madd Mike, describing the exploits of Mike and his amazing Zenos Arrow can still be located on this forum, but they are the stuff of legend. His 26 X was highly modified for extreme long range cruising, and he cruised his boat on most of America's waters. One epic voyage took him across the Caribbean to South America and up the Amazon. In another voyage he cruised the Mackenzie River to the Arctic Ocean. As I recall, he managed to mount a pair of 18 hp outboards for motoring power, he installed retractable pontoons for stability, and he set up his water ballast as a fresh water storage source. Not recommending any of these radical mods, but, given his adventuring spirit and obvious ingenuity, he made them work for him. I wish he would write a book detailing his adventures.
Good luck with your Great Loop cruise, Mike. It would be great if you checked in here from time to time, to report on your progress.

Thanks guy, here’s a pix of ‘Tioga Mar’, I try to keep you posted.I still use the Walker Bat tender I purchased in St. Martin while on my way to the Orinoco 20 years ago. Like Zeno’s Arrow, Tioga Mar will use electric outboards for down river/down current fuel saving applications.

I am sorry, but I can't resist.
While in Antarctica, I am glad that Dr. Hartry didn't give you the cold shoulder.

P.S. Nice boat.

Ha, ha, we actually tracked down the expedition ship we first met on at Deception Bay, Antarctica in ‘81, it went aground off Rodrick Bay near Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands and we swam over and visited it with a bottle of Champagne a couple of years back! I’ll post a pix of the Walker Bay on the back of the Ferretti and try to find a picture of it on Zeno’s Arrow from the Amazon.

Again, congratulations on the wedding.
In two days it will be Friday, February 19th. That is our 556 month anniversary. We celebrate every month.

Good to hear things are going well for you Mike. Nice yacht!
I'll never forget your description of the cockpit of your X filling with water to the depth of the seats, going through a rage cut in the Bahamas, if I remember correctly. That thought tends to calm me down in rough conditions, "rough" being a very relative term.

Yikes, I sure do remember that one! Sitting on top of one of the two 50 gallon Tempo fuel tanks as it started trying to float its way out the back of the cockpit (if you recall I’d taken out the swing up back seat to accommodate the tiller autopilot).

Re: Where is ;Madd Mike’ and Zeno’s Arrow
I'm a relative newbe and curiosity got the better of me. I had to read every post Sir Madd had to offer. I've bookmarked 20 for future reference and study. INCREDIBLE! Out of every post, link to posts, link to other websites, or photo buckets, I only found ONE picture. It's a shame more of your legacy isn't covered in images.
Thanks for poking back.
