Admiral

Post by Bill at BOATS 4 SAIL »

I've been on this site since 1/10/2004, and I'm only a captain. I should be at least a 2 star admiral by now. Why is that?

Bill,

You are the strong silent type.

You keep your comments concise, righteous, and infrequent.

Now Jimmyt on the other hand :o  :D

I've been wondering about those crew designations and what they mean/ how they work.

Strictly by post count. Note that post quality is not a factor. Otherwise, as Ray points out, I'd still be a swab...

Well, lets see - at an average of 0.16 posts/day, and 15 posts short of “Admiral” status, that means we can expect a promotion in about 94 days. At the current rate, of course.

Heath came up with the rank designations, and how to achieve them. Russ just grandfathered them in.

Hey Bill,if the comments on your ingenious easy cleat, aka "Bills E Z Cleats",were counted in the format, you would have reached that milestone years ago.Im sure we all wish they were still available,as your upgrade to the Garhauer Marine Swivel Cams is a much better product. One things for sure,it was more of a labor of love for our sailing community than a financial gain. Thanks Bill, i never leave home port with out them.

Fair enough. I didn't feel negatively about the ranks, just curious.
