My trailers now 9 years old. It’s the aluminum trailer but the drawbar and axles seem suspect. Light are a disaster. I’m not going to do the work myself. It’s not really my forte. I’d like new lights (easy) new axle, wheels breaks lines breaks drawbar and heavier weight carry. Upgraded axle and tires.
Is it cheaper to just buy a new one?

Gosh.... I have a brand new Galvanised drawbar you could have had!! ... But we're on the wrong sides of the world
And a month ago I would have given you an arm and a leg for what's left of your old trailer but last week I put my deposit down on my new trailer
If it's not your forte then best go with new .. I'm sure someone would be very happy to buy your old one

Re: New or overhaul?
I rebuilt my aluminum trailer January 2019. I decided to add surge brakes to it while I was replacing the axles. Two axles, 4 hubs, 4 brakes, brake lines, surge coupler were just under $1000. I live about 2 hours from the manufacturer so I picked the axles up instead of having them shipped. Shipping from another source would have been about $350 more.
Even paying for shipping there is no way I could have replaced the trailer for under $1400. I was in no hurry and it still only took about 3 days off and on to do the whole job. I did not need any unusual tools or special skills.
If you decide to change your lights, consider going to LED. Whatever you do regarding lights, I've found that running a separate ground wire to each light eliminates most of the problems. Most lights use the trailer frame for ground and that can be problematic on an older trailer.
